RE:Pelosi- A request to NETROOTS Attendees ... [updated]

Thu Jul 17, 2008 at 08:26:09 PM PDT

I wrote and emailed a letter (several weeks ago) to Speaker Pelosi, as did many people who were disgusted with her actions of late related to impeachment and FISA, and then, subsequent to this, I believe, realizing that her political career might actually be in jeopardy due to her failure to honor her sacred responsibility to defend the constitution, she made a decision to attend this year's NETROOTS convention, thinking, I believe, that she can play some spin-doctoring to change the opinions of the blogging world, given our rising power in politics ... additionally, she has made an empty gesture by sending the articles to the Senate (see video below)

... well, my request to you all in attendance at NETROOTS ... please SLAM her and let her know that her empty gestures will NOT salvage her political career!

Note: Cross-Posted, as a comment to Hunter's wonderful diary Welcome to Netroots Nation.

President John Adams - A Life of Service (w/vids)

Fri Jul 04, 2008 at 08:02:02 PM PDT

If you have not seen the HBO Miniseries, you should. It is superb. It draws heavily upon the letters between John Adams and his wife, Abigail Adams. I have supplied several vids below.

The story of our country's founding fathers, and all the colonials, fills my mood, this day. And, giving thanks to all those who have served to forge this nation into being, and to preserve her through the generations, this is deep in my thoughts and heart.

I have always cherished Thomas Jefferson, for his vision and words, and George Washington, for his leadership and honor, and Abraham Lincoln, for his courage and strength ... and now, I have come to more intimately know, and cherish, John Adams, and his spirit and integrity. And, I must also mention, the dear wife of John Adams, Abigail Adams, and her heart and wisdom, which helped to forge this nation's principles and ideals, in no small way.

We must never forget what they have done, and why they served. We must remember with honor, their honor.

Path of Service: WTC 9/13/01 - My Story

(This is my 9/11 Story and what I did on Thursday, September 13th 2001)

ArthurPoet__RedLineOnGreen

I have never in my life seen such an outpouring of love and humanity.

We arrived at 10:30am, today, (September 13th 2001), 1/2 Mile North of the WTC, on the West Side Highway, Rich, Jose and I. There were 8 people making and packing sandwiches and fruits and cookies.  There were several dozen more people passing out water and food to the passing emergency vehicles.  We asked what they needed, and they said, "cold cuts."  My friend, Jose, jokingly sticks his hands in his pockets and says, "Sorry, all outta cold cuts."  We all laugh.  And then we say, "Is that what you need?"  And they say, "yes."  And we say, "What else do you need?"  They give us a list of items and we leave.

Dear Pelosi, Re: FISA & Impeachment

Regarding FISA & Impeachment
******************************************

Dear Congresswoman Pelosi,

I realize that you have many conflicting agendas, ulterior motives and special interests that you must serve in order to preserve your political career and personal future, however, as a statesmen, for our country, the constitution, and the safeguarding thereof, are paramount and supersede all others. Your speech on these matters, your willingness to compromise, and unilaterally rule out impeachment, denote a profound lack of appreciation for the constitution and the principles of our founding fathers, much less, your very honor to uphold the oaths of the office for which you have been entrusted. You have no right to deem impeachment as "off the table" .... not if you honor the rule of law and the constitution of this county. Whatever you think your job is, you are grossly mistaken, if you naively believe it is anything other than preserving the sacred and inalienable rights of our people and to punish all those who betray those rights and commit abuses against humanity ... crimes against humanity.

"her lack of style," as my father would put it,

Thu Jun 05, 2008 at 04:30:54 AM PDT

I am appalled at her lack of class, her lack of respect, her lack of honor, her lack of integrity, her lack of ethics, her lack of etiquette, her lack of grace .... "her lack of style," as my father would put it .... It is this of which I speak, and it is to her family and her supporters who condone such profoundly deeply offensive behavior from this ill behaved spoiled child who thinks she can get away with this because her name is Hillary Rodham Clinton. Please, do not even try to defend her. She has lost all respect from me what-so-ever. Her actions have spoken loud and clear. Forget about President, or Vice President even, 'cause, I got news for the lady, I am a 25 year IT Professional from New York City, raised in Queens, New York, and she has lost my vote for the Senate.

I have never seen a more classless lady in my entire life.

Liz Trotta Apologizes ... hardly ...

Liz Trotta is scum of the earth ...

I don't think I have ever heard a more disingenuous apology in my entire life, (except of course, for clinton's) ... can you hear the utter contempt she has for those who support Obama, and actually care about people ... can you hear her condescending patronizing sarcastic insincere tone ... she is scum of the earth.

Please do rec, so people see this piece of shit, but I will not be posting a TIP jar, I want no tip for anything associated with this ilk.

But we believe just as strongly that Mrs. Clinton will be making a terrible mistake — for herself, her party and for the nation — if she continues to press her candidacy through negative campaigning with disturbing racial undertones. We believe it would also be a terrible mistake if she launches a fight over the disqualified delegations from Florida and Michigan.

Obama Did NOT Dishonor Wright ....

Tue Apr 29, 2008 at 02:55:29 PM PDT

... and Obama did not throw Wright under the Bus,
it is much worse than that, Obama cut Wright,
because Wright deserved to be cut, because Wright
threw Obama under the bus, and because Wright
dishonored Obama in the most severe of ways.

Wright called Obama a liar, plain and simple.

And in response ...
Obama told the truth, nothing more, nothing less.

Obama's "More Perfect Union" speech was the seminal
speech on harmony and healing of racial divides,
since this country's birth over 225 years ago,
and Mr.Wright CALLED IT A LIE by suggesting
that it was merely "political" posturing.

Mr.Wright is blind if that is all he sees in Obama's
words, in Obama's campaign, and in Obama's life path.

(As Obama, himself, even said in his speech today,
that Wright must not know him, if that is what he
believes.)

Primary Lures Those Too Young to Vote

* THE NEW YORK TIMES *
By: Jacques Steinberg

At Erdenheim Elementary School in Flourtown, Pa.,
Henry Centeno made a point this week about how the
Democratic presidential candidates could help students.

FLOURTOWN, Pa. — The primary race between Senators Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama could be decided in places like this bedroom community in southeastern Pennsylvania, where polls show the two Democratic presidential candidates running tight.

So it was with obvious gravity that 74 fourth graders at Erdenheim Elementary School assembled this week behind the glass and tan brick walls of their classrooms to debate the campaign’s central issues. The children, most 9 or 10, then signaled their preferences for the Democratic nomination in a gradewide straw poll.

George Stephanopoulos Responds To Obama, Defends Handling Of Debate
By Greg Sargent - April 17, 2008, 2:52PM

"The questions were tough, fair, relevant, and appropriate," the ABC moderator tells Election Central.

Dear George Stephanopoulos, Sir,

With all due respect, but you have missed the point entirely. What is at issue here is a failing economy, a failing national defense, a failing of the very republic's honoring of the RULE OF LAW at the highest level in their conducting torture something that should signify an immediate response by all media and legislative and judicial bodies in order to protect the very fabric of our nation, a failing in the very liberties that we hold most dear in the suspending of HABEAS CORPUS ... the GREAT WRIT ... and you have the gall to ask questions about a flag on a lapel and now you have the nerve to suggest that these sorts of questions are "tough, fair, relevant, and appropriate," ... You must be joking?
