Republican Co-worker Flipped

Wed Oct 18, 2006 at 10:24:49 PM PDT

It's late, so this won't be long. There is a guy that I work with from time to time. He's retired military (nothing wrong with that). He's pretty rigid. He and I have mixed it up a few times over politics.

Anyway, I have some news to report on the other side.

Cutting and Running? Let's Use It!

Sat Jul 29, 2006 at 12:16:57 AM PDT

I see it every day somewhere. On a blog. In the newspaper. On the TeeVee. Or I hear it on the radio. The Democrats - they want to cut and run. I see Bill Frist said it again today.

What's that saying? If you can't beat 'em, join 'em?

We Can't Make it Here

I could just be late to the party, but I just saw this video thanks to Crooks & Liars. Everyone needs to see/hear this powerful song put to stunning video.

I did a search, but couldn't find it posted here.

My Small Act of Sedition ( or whatever)

Sun Jul 02, 2006 at 11:12:22 PM PDT

I'll make this short and sweet. I went out shopping this afternoon for some books (I got "The 1% Doctrine" and "The Tipping Point"). Anyway, while I was there, I perused all the new books displayed so fabulously in the front of the store.

Show Me (Thanks Lerner & Loewe)

Reading Georgia10's excellent front page piece, "A Single-Step Guide For Democrats", something jumped out at me.

If our tolerance for politician-speak had an expiration date, I would say that date came and went a long time ago, making today's garbled political conversation seem curdled, spoiled, and downright foul.

Not that this is really the answer for what ails our Congress, but this song came to mind.

Updated: Sactown Action! Let's Sell out Gore's Movie Tonight!

Sat Jun 10, 2006 at 03:26:14 PM PDT

It's Saturday, and I'm not in Las Vegas. But, An Inconvenient Truth just opened here in Sacramento at the vintage Tower Theater. I've been waiting for the movie to come to town and today is a great day to go. So, how are we going to get there? Are we going to drive over 30 miles (one way) in a gas guzzling car? I don't think so...

Just check this out.

Women, Customer Service, and Basketball

Mon Jun 05, 2006 at 09:33:07 PM PDT

I'm celebrating my "New, Improved" TU status by writing my first diary. Whatever shall I write about? It should be something that I'm impassioned about, right? Let's make a list:

* Torture
* The Hate Amendment
* The Anti-Choice Thang
* The War
* The Screwing of the Middle Class
* The Katrina Disaster
* The Subtle (or not so subtle) Erosion of Women's Equality
* Global Warming/The Environment
* The Outsourcing of our Government
* The Failure of the 4th Estate

Let's spin the Wheel O' Outrage and see where we land...
